LymphAware is a patient-led project being developed to make it easier for people living with lymphoedema to communicate important information when they need support, assistance or understanding.
Why LymphAware is being developed
Lymphoedema is not always well understood. People living with the condition can find themselves having to explain it repeatedly in healthcare settings, emergencies, workplaces, travel and everyday situations.
There may also be times when explaining everything clearly is difficult, uncomfortable or simply not practical.
LymphAware is being developed as an additional communication aid: a physical identification card linked by QR code to a digital profile containing information selected by the patient.

The service is being developed around a small number of principles that should remain central as LymphAware grows.

LymphAware should be understandable and practical for people who may not feel confident using technology.
